Teacher Training Organized by Khud in Collaboration with Gymboree (Beaconhouse)
Khud in collaboration with Gymboree Pakistan organized a 2 days special teacher training workshop at Beaconhouse Head Office in Lahore. Nearly 18 primary level teachers from Khud’s partner schools benefited from this exciting opportunity. The teachers were given extensive training on topics ranging from class room management, lesson planning, numeracy and phonics.

Miss Maryam, a teacher from Mughalpura School said that, "(t)his workshop has provided me a good knowledge about teaching skills and lesson planning. It will certainly help me improve discipline in my class. I also learnt how I can deliver lecture in simple words keeping in regard the I.Q level of the students of my class."
Her colleague Miss Uzma shared her experience, "This workshop was very useful for me. In this workshop I learnt the modern methods to teach the students. I also learnt how to deliver a good lecture in a short time with the help of lesson planning. I personally like the class management rules told by Miss Reene. It will help me improve discipline in my class."

Miss Parveen from the Zahoor School was the star of the training, she not only actively participated, but also gave constructive feedback regarding the teaching methodologies to her colleagues. She really enjoyed learning about phonetics and said, "This workshop will be very beneficial for me in educational field. Earlier I was not aware of jolly phonics. It will certainly make my lessons more enjoyable and change the learning experience for my students." Primary year’s teacher Miss Fozia also shared her experience with us, "Earlier, I found difficulty in retaining student attention. Now with the help of strategies that Miss Renee has given, I will be able to do that."
At the end of training session, Madam Yasmeen the principal of Zahoor Public School was kind enough to praise the efforts of Khud. She said that such further training would help the under resourced and marginalized schools to developed sophisticated understanding of contemporary teaching practices.

The teachers were very excited throughout the training and actively participated in the discussions. Reene Rashed, the teacher trainer, applauded the efforts of the teachers and encouraged them to carry forth this great duty of empowering and teaching the next generation. She was very generous and patient with our teachers, and we would like to extend a special thanks to her. Moreover, we are also thankful to Sophia Kasuri and Farhan Jawa for organizing this training. In near future, Gymboree plans to hold follow up sessions at our partner schools to encourage our teachers to implement the prescribed teaching methodologies in their classrooms.
