Digital Accountants Program: A Short Explainer
Dear followers, friends, prospective candidates and curious readers,
Given the massive number of questions we receive every day on the Digital Accountants Program, we thought it’d be a good idea to get every detail down in a short and sweet blog so you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything important.
The Digital Accountants Program or DAP for short seeks to train young talent from underserved communities so that they become adept in digital financial management for small businesses. In the first phase of the program, students will be trained in basic digital literacy and familiarized with the ins and outs of operating systems. In the second phase, the curriculum for DAP incorporates a wide variety of accounting skills, including recording and tracking transactions to inventory management and financial reporting.
Once students graduate from the program they will be paired up with a small business in the Automobile Spare Parts market in Badami Bagh, one of Lahore’s busiest commercial hubs. There our students will work to digitize and then manage financial accounts, for which they will receive a monthly salary. These jobs will be protected by a contract signed between the student and their employee under the aegis of PASPIDA (Pakistan Auto Spare Parts Importers and Dealers Association).
